THE ROBBER WICH TOOK NOTHING

We were extremely happy on the solving of the last case and RJ threw a grand party. Vaibhu always stood away from glamour and was still in tension. We were excited and partied all night. He seemed a little irritated so we didn't dig him. Then we all went to sleep.

In the night I heard something like , someone typing. I saw Vaibhu working on the computer. "what happened" I posed a question. He said that there was an e-mail this evening saying that there was a break-in in there house. The thief didn't took any thing and just wrote on the wall "only Vaibhu can save you". Now this was really astonishing as the thief was bound to take something and the members of the family really scared. The house was about a hour drive away. Here RJ came to play, we reached the house at first light by riding on a chopper. The chopper looked like a peacock with Sun's red light gleaming on it. The thief had come through a ventilator and had taken down the grill. Police was busy in Taking finger prints. We entered the house, a sweet smell had filled the room. Vaibhu interrogated the members. It was the father who came to know about the break-in first. He was sure of a break-in as he had seen some the ventilator open which was hardly bounded from to the window from many years. There was a hole cut in the glass. The story seemed to be true.Vaibhu wanted to be sure that till where had the robber penetrated into the house. So, he called the man again and asked if the door connecting the house and the room remained closed. The man told us that there was a photograph of a lion so children were afraid of it and this room was seldom opened. We were sure that the  thief broke-in and into the wrong room and had to go empty handed since the door was locked.Suddenly then the son of the man came playing with water guns and threw water on VJ. VJ being athletic ducked the jet of water. We were giggling away when Vaibhu came to us and shouted "CLEAR THE PREMISIS". What happened, one of us popped out.He told us to get out of the house and take all of the members with us. Till now Nihu had also joined us and took people out of the house."call the ambulance" Vaibhu shouted. We were still confused. Nihu did as he said.
Taking all the people out he told us that the thief had come with an intention to kill all of them including us four. We still didn't get anything.

Vaibhu explained
"The water dried as soon as it was sprayed on the wall by the child and remember when we had entered we had felt a sweet smell, these are actually the characteristics of ETHYLENE GLYCOL a volatile toxin which had been painted onto the wall. The thief actually wanted us all to inhale it and kill me and you all." All of us were took to the hospital and were given  first aid and sent home.

CASE SOLVED

I think we have a villain planning things against us.......................................................................................................

THE MUREDER OF THE BROKEN LEGGED MADEMOISELLE

So, we all were waiting for our first case, when VJ switched on the tv. There was a news on a domestic news channel that flashed on the tv that a girl who had a broken leg was missing from her house. She was being searched from bus stand to airports. The police was under distress. Though she was not a minister's daughter but still belonged from a posh sector of Chandigarh. We all looked towards Vaibhu for his expert comments, he joked it up saying they must look for her in hospitals. We had a laugh and then waited for the evening news paper. The case was described in quite detail say that
"She having injured her leg a month earlier had been recuperating at home on Thursday, 20 July 2015 when many of her friends including one, ABC called upon her inquiring about her health. In the evening when her mother returned from school, she could not find her at home. She tried to call her on her cell phone but the cell phone was switched off. She even checked up with all her friends, but she was nowhere to be found. She called up her husband and informed him that their daughter was missing. Both of them went to the CHD Police at 6.30 pm and registered a missing person complaint. Her parents, their neighbours and her friends, kept searching for her till late evening but failed to find any trace of her."

Next day her body was found in the drawer of her bed. Hands and legs tied and mouth gagged. We rushed to the crime scene. The inspector showed some resilience in letting us in but when VJ(practically the government) stepped into the matter we were given way quite easily. Vaibhu went directly to the crime seen and checked the official report of the murder.
It said
"THE GIRL WAS DRUGGED BY SOMETHING HARD AND STRONG AS MARKS OF INSERTION OF SYRINGE CAN BE SEEN ON HER ARM  AND THE MOUTH WAS GAGGED MEANING THE GIRL WAS HELD HOSTAGE FIRST AND THEN DRUGGED."

No signs of robbery were seen hence someone broke in when everyone was out. Vaibhu examined the body carefully. Called us and showed us some black spots on her nose. We three had no idea. Vaibhu went on. Then there was a cool breeze, VJ using his powers made the current inspector suspended with immediate effect. The new inspector came and to our luck she(this time a lady inspector) was nice and subtle in behavior named Niharika. She allowed us to continue. Vaibhu went on to question the parents and asked them where were the last evening. The father was at work and mother had gone shopping. Vaibhu then came up with a question that almost no one had suspected of being asked on this occasion, "who made the food for the girl ?" he asked in a serious tone. The girl's mother told us that since her daughter was having symptoms of vertigo since a few months she remained at home and did all the work herself. The leg of her daughter got broken when one day she was coming down the stairs and dizziness captured her all over. Vaibhu then went to the kitchen and took samples of the food that was last taken by her. Niharika got the body taken for postmortem and her team took forensic samples. We bid goodbye and came back. Vaibhu spent a few hours in the lab Rajat had financed and arranged with all kind of lavish and expensive apparatus. Then he went somewhere and gave us instructions not to come behind, we spent the evening watching tv.

NEXT DAY

In the morning he gave a call to the lady inspector (niharika or as we'll call her from now on nihu). She came Vaibhu told her
" Catch the parents they did it." We were astonished. "How can yo say that." one of us erupted.
He said
"What does go on in your little brains, Nothing I suppose. Those black dots were of CHCL3 i.e. chloroform. Then the food samples constituted of ACONITINE that comes from the aconite flower. That is actually a slow poison which caused vertigo in the girl. The father was unhappy by her recent affair and had decided to kill her slowly, but something drastic did happen the night before yesterday, I went to their garden yesterday to find out some more things which are she was in a constant relationship from past few months. She had  string of lovers, didn't go to college and the most important her father is her stepfather."

"Now where did........................." I began. He cut me short saying "Let me complete.

He continued
"Her father came to know about that something did happen and since he had been giving her slow poison from the past few months, she went into vertigo's daily. That evening he waited for the same. Then using a chloroform dabbed cloth he made her unconscious. gave here BOTOLINUM and killed her. Not to mention that her dad had his own business he can show that he is in the office easily so, he chose this way. To answer you question Sachleen, I too have sources............THE ROADSIDE NETWORK"
And we got ourselves a new friend NIHU.
CASE SOLVED

THE INTERLUDE

After solving quite a few cases Vaibhu had got some differences with some senior officers. Few days later we had a letter with two tickets to Chandigarh the place where crimes had steadily been increasing. The envelope was hand written. A faint smile on Vaibhu's face came alive, and he whispered "Rajat". I was still confused. He had identified his handwriting even after seven and a half years of college got over. Our two very old friends Rajat(RJ) and Vijay(VJ)  wanted us to investigate and have an year off from all the work they and we did, and live a life of freeness. Viabhu resigned from the job and left it with immediate effect. He became a private detective. RJ was the richest businessman of India and also as you all  can probably guess he was our financer too. VJ was in the the unofficial secret service of India and had a huge control over the ministry, whichever party the government belonged to. He was practically the government. We had got two new add ons one a tycoon and the other more powerful than a lion in the jungle. RJ bought a new bungalow for us and as we all were bachelors we used to party all night. And in the day we used to investigate crimes.  AND my job,

THE RIGHT ARM OFF-SPINNER

This will be the first fictitious detective story.

I had gone to my friend Vaibhu's house, we were meeting after a long time as contact was never established after the college was over. We just came to know about each other from a social site.

TODAY

When I woke up today rubbing my eyes, I read the newspaper, it flashed the news that some domestic cricketer who was suspected to be indulged in fixing was found dead in his apartment, someone had slit the vein near his left wrist. Though this news was not in the main portion but still caught my eye as it seemed interesting. Following the news on the internet I found out that even after about 18 hours police was still clueless as their first report the case seemed of robbery.  Me and my colleague Vaibhu went to the house, just to see what had happened. There was a faint stink of something , I think the windows and doors were recently painted.Vaibhu has got terrific observational skills of which even I am afraid of.  The house was small and was just two roomed. The cupboard in the entrance seemed to be searched for something. The room looked have a tussle between two people as their were blood marks on the walls and the dining table. Police were taking samples. Vaibhu requested them to let him take a look at the room more carefully. He went on and checked each thing carefully and minutely. He asked me what did I think. I knew he always disagreed with the theory of the police so I tried to act smart and said that I think something might have happened between the two ....... I hadn't  even completed my sentence and he smiled at me saying you too have learnt something working with me. I said that let me complete the sentence. He nodded in assertion. I said something like snatching might have happened between the robber and the cricketer. He gazed at me and gave me an angry look saying you can't be any good. This actually puzzled me that a few seconds earlier my incomplete sentence was good enough for him and after completing it what mistake did I make in those last five words.
He pointed to the swelling between the middle and forefinger of the cricketer. That looked like repetitive scratches. I said he might be drugging or doping. He gave me a smile and went directly to the inquiring inspector, showed his ID , on which it was written SR. DETECTIVE INSPECTOR Vaibhav. I was shocked  to know his designation. He said
"The case is crystal clear. The cricketer had something illegal with him, might be some paperwork or bill which could make us reach to the real master-mind of the game. There were two robbers who had broken in when the cricketer was out, TWO judging by the finger prints that were clearly shown on the newly painted cupboard. Then they had a fight between them as their is blood on the right wall of the house but no bloody wound on the body except the cut on the left hand. The robbers took those things which actually acted as something with which he could blackmail the master-mind. Since, the thing is gone , he couldn't survive for long. So he committed suicide. SUICIDE because, the person has swollen middle finger which usually an off-spinner has, and the murder weapon is lying much near the body. No other signs of force applied on the body. Clearly SUICIDE"
CASE SOLVED.

The Illusionising DIVA

It had been quite a few days in college, when I first saw that student. Probably he had  late admission to the college. Though he was a little shy but intelligent. Few days after I came to know that he was from the same coaching center as me though we were from different programmes. We had the best group of students in the whole class and all are doing nicely in all the subjects. He too joined our group but had been on and off with his presence in our group. He was more like a floating character in almost all groups. Our group consisted of six people. We all were the best in one or the other. He too then joined our group.  Then a girl also joined our group. Cute and sober by nature.  The new guy seemed to be fond of her. Since I had been in a relationship from quite a little while, I told him to take things a little slow. We all wanted them to be together. We made a game plan for the guy and gave him tips time to time. He was doing things properly. Though due to his attire and way of doing things was a little more idealistic,  we usually did ignore him. He didn't have that much of significance in our group.
Few days later things seem to be going nice with both of them. We usually saw them together and happy. Hands meeted smiles ignited. Things were going smooth and then when we thought that the task was almost completed came a blast. The girl suddenly changed faces. From cute to dangerous and threatning, the guy that day seemed off colour to me. He didn't regret anything but just wished to know where he had gone wrong. He was good at studies and seemed distracted from few days but now I'm sure he'll be able to focus again and go on to the race for thentop slot. My best wishes for him.  A little advice for him that it is not your fault alone, SHE PUMPED YOU by allowing you to hold her hand,  and you moron took that to be love. You should have played like a smart arse but you lost the battle playing true love.
